"The Beginning"Time has come and in a month, I ll officially become an Engineer. This is the beginning of an era. My software engineer life is about to blossom. Its time to look back on all those that has lead me to this beginning. A few people who deserves a special mention, the untold sorry , a few thanks and lots more. Hope you guessed what this post is about. Yes, the four extraordinary year in my life and the people who made it so :)
This is where it all began - CEG ,Chennai.Don't get confused, of-course am a TCE-ian :D But I chose to be a TCE-ian only here. I was not very happy about the choice of college as i wanted to rush out of Madurai. Taking up Engineering in my home town was something I never imagined! Three people to blame -
The person who corrected my Maths paper in 12th :D
My brother .
My father.
The first one was so keen to find the missing negative in my paper thereby negating my entire dream about college life in a different city.
The second one - "Take TCE-CS and THAT'S IT!"
The Third one - "Just think, you get CS, you ll be a day scholar, you can go from home, you can eat at home"
The entire sentence decided my life. TCE,CS ,I was destined to be!
Hours after deciding it, I rang up my school friend and asked, "Hey whats up?"
The conversation lasted just two minutes,or even lesser.
Me : "Hey ,what college?
She : "Hmm.. TCE?"
Me : "What?! Hey me too, what department?"
She : "CSE"
Me : "What?! I thought you would choose ECE! Thank God! I'm CS too :)"
And very gladly this friend of mine continued to be with me throughout all the four years. We shared same seat in the bus, same class, same bench. We became closer in these years and shared a lot more than we did since our fourth grade till 12th!
Yup, she is Padmavathi Poorna Pushkalambal :D Well she is actually Poorna alias Padmavathi but Pushkalambal is my addition :D
The short, cute, studious[oops she is not, she just gets her marks though, department topper :D], fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and a lot of English movies. No wonder she cracked the Deloitte phone interview :D We typically hanged out together in college. We ended up team mates for final year project. We always remained together, though we dint have much similarities, well none can have one such with me though :D We had very sensitive moments together, and we know each other the most :) Hope she becomes a roommate with me in future, somehow!
Back Home-SS, Madurai.Knowing for sure I wont be alone in my college, I was happy for almost a week until I met a girl, in her yellow salwar, very fair, but no curly hair, and above all this , a Chennai-wala!:D She was not taller than a thousand wala, yet her charm was bigger than that. She din't have much hype. Our first meeting lasted only a few minutes. But she was the closest in the next couple of years. We had awesome times together, lot of combined studies, spent time in each other's house, shared almost everything, never felt bored. At times I even heard her grandpa's loooong lectures :D Yes, Its Nandini. A friend who grew so best in such a short time, but situations kept us from being best for long.
The Orientation Day - TCE,MaduraiFirst day orientation and I had no clue of what to do. During the campus tour, I met a lot of my fellow batch mates , a few who turned into best, a few who remained friends, a few who are still acquaintances. Time to introduce the cute little camphor, oops Karpagalakshmi. I knew her name from a friend of mine and also about her studious nature prior meeting her. Oh yeah! Our first meeting was one of those unforgettable ones :D Best known as Rads alias Radha alias Anu ;) My another team mate, not only in final year project but also in a number of treats :D And yeah, One that tops the who-never-had-a-fight-with-me list:D
A couple of days later - TCE,Madurai. So orientation was almost over and if I'm right I was waiting outside the EEE Seminar hall, to receive some lecture I guess. It was then I met a girl, tall and slim, with a specs just like me, but it looked good on her though. She was surrounded by a gang of girls and she was talking to all, introducing herself to all as "Hi, I'm Srividya from Pollachi" :D Ah! I wanted to talk to her right away! Some kind of attraction. She was the one who always sat before me in exams, beside me in class at times, missed attendance almost all the time, got scolded by me all the time :D I would have missed to tell quite a number of sorry and thank you to her. But she wouldn't mind though :)
Second week - B6, TCE,Madurai.I was feeling lonely for a week as I couldn't get along with much of the girls in my class. Majority were hostelers. It was time for a warm breeze in my life. She had a stylish outlook, was from trichy, a CBSE student, very friendly. She was regretting only one decision at that time. "How do i spend my four years with rest of 117 guys?!" Aishu, The Mech Queen. I admire her guts and the way she performed so consistently in this field. A hard worker, and I would say one who changed her Engineering life from "Miserable" to "Memorable" just in her own way! We are two die-hard Suriya-Jo fans, who never stop gossiping about the couple, or his movies. We watched two Suriya movies together, hopefully waiting for another :)
Communication System-Sem III, CS 2, TCE, Madurai.A subject most of us hated then. But not the classes though. It was not hard for me to memorize the theory and write them. But it was for this guy, who till date has hard time memorizing anything. The complete opposite of me in everything. Our views differed in almost everything, our likings rarely coincided, our way of life was very much different. But all this helped in making us realize each other's positive and negative perfectly. The BEST critic ever and will be. This is where my over-phone teachings began. It never stopped till now :( This guy is the only one who can still bare my temper, listen to all those idiotic jokes, make me stop worrying and fights with me almost everyday yet stay closer than ever :) Arvind, the one who can withstand my temper and still be my Best friend :)
The people above taught me what life is and how wonderful it can be. There are two others who remind me of the famous proverb " All that glitters is not gold". Thanks to Mr.Road Roller for teaching me to handle hatred, sarcasm, and above all betrayal and to Mr.366 degree who made me realize "Change is permanent in life".
The post got longer than I thought , so I end it on a simple note : The Making-of-this-Engineer was indeed extraordinary :)
