P.S :I long waited for this one and finally I got the very apt story.
Though well known,hope it gives a different feeling :)

Best "Project" Hour so far :P

It was a thursday and i was in the lab for "project" hours. There came the juniors with shocked and bewildered faces led by their lecturer. No wonder,its the same NS lab. I wasn't surprised much by these as it was the "usual" looks everyone has on their very first NS lab! I waited for the show to began and there it started with the very same words :D

"You know substitution and transposition techniques right? start implementing it now!"

I couldn't control my smile. I waited for more and more of it.
"If you don't come prepared for viva voice, then you ll get only zero". Now the smile turned into a bigger one.

I still waited. An innocent girl kept her observation over the CPU. The finale! Her note was snatched and took to the lecturer's table. She came very innocently and asked for her observation. "How many times did I tell you not to keep it over the CPU?!" and me and my friend almost burst into laughter the moment we heard it!! So the slay goat for the next set was ready :D

Later the lecturer came to us and asked "Couldn't control your laugh,could you? Reminds of what you people did?" and we told him a BIG "YES" with our laugh again :D

Its Me vs Them

It was a pleasant monday. The atmosphere was busy yet delightful. Yeah it was the mass recruitment day in my college. It was like a festival. I was there on time as i was asked to attend this company. The pre placement talk was delayed as usual and it ended by 11'o clock. As it was a direct interview for many, fellow mates went to get their employment form. I was around 17th or so and i left the hall,waiting for my friends. As they arrived we walked towards the Boy's hostel. We actually dint know where to go but we got to the right place with others. People were busy with their books and where curious as it was the first interview for so many. Me and ,my friends who weren't looking forward for this job, kept watching others study and helped a few by clarifying their doubts,actually confusing them even more :D
So knowing that i ll be first one among my friends to attend the interview,i sat there worried as i was in my worst form ever. They called us for interview at around 1.30 or so,am not sure.I was sent to panel 8. Within few minutes ,my friend's friend came and sat next to me for the same panel. We exchanged a short smile and we started looking at our own resumes. As i was glancing it to have an idea for my self intro,i found that the resume was actually odd! The formatting for which i took intense care were gone! I could neither curse my friend nor my friend's friend for that,as they were responsible for me actually having a resume in hand :D
"Super cool girl,your resume sucks! you neednt under perform at all, they ll throw you out for the resume you have" said my mind voice.This thought made me feel better actually :D
So this interview of mine, will be big flop as expected,i thought.They called my name and i went in. He asked me to sit and i thanked him. The comedy show starts now

Interviewer 1 : So how was the day?
Me : Yeah it's great so far.
Interviewer 1: Does that mean the climate?
Me: Yeah climate is awesome and the atmosphere seems so busy!
Interviewer 1: So tell us about yourself.
Me : My name is,blah blah and i cut it short to almost 2 and half minutes i guess
Interviewer 2: So you are OCP or OCA?
Me : I am an OCA.
I 2: Which means you have completed two papers rite?
Me: yeah.
I 2: so tell me, what are the type of indices?
Me : (mind voice) How the hell these guys find out that i would get struck up with the first question!?
As far as i know,it primary and secondary indices used in storage structures,Sir
I 2: Type of constraints?
Me : (mind voice) Why did i get an OCA!?
Its primary key constraint,foreign key constraint (uh! then what is the first one?!), null,unique!
I 2: you missed check constraint
Me: oh yeah.
I 1: so what is your final year project?
Me : (mind voice) Aaramichutaingala?!
Well, i am planning to work on Independent task GRAPH ,sorry Independent task scheduling. I haven't selected a base paper yet.
I 2: what language u ll use?
Me: C sir
I 1: so you have done 3 so far, were they mandatory?
Me: No sir, it was on my own interest.
I 2: So you know java, tell me the difference between operator overloading and overriding!
Me:(mind voice) When did they introduce "operator" overloading in JAVA?! I gave stupid explanations for it but dint care for the relation between first part and the actual question
I 2: What is the purpose of public static void main?
Me:(blah blah blah)
I 1: So tell me, do you want this job?
Me: (mind voice) Are you a mind reader man?!
Well, May be yes!,or may be NO!
(mind voice) engakitaye va :P
I 1: Oh come on,you want it or not?
Me : I ll be happy with anything. Give me the job,I ll be happy with it. Don't give me the job, I ll still be happy!
I 1: Fine, so do you have any questions?
Me: Well, NO!
I 1: What, you don't even have one?!
Me:(mind voice) ?!
No sir
I 1: So here's the deal, ask me THREE questions and i ll consider giving a job for you,else you can simply leave and its a straight No!
Me : THREE questions sir?!
(mind voice) Wat!? 3?! no way!
I ll try framing them sir
How will be my career growth in your company?
I 1: what do you expect?
Me: Well i need constant improvement and attain increasing positions,how will your company help me?
I 1: okay,next question!
Me : Sir,you don't intend to reply my questions? Is it just me who is going to ask the questions?
I 1: You ask the next, i ll come back to you.
Me: (thinking for 30 to 45 seconds)
I 1: What is this? You don't even have one question to ask to the company you look forward too?
Me:(mind voice) Did i ever tell you so?!
Due to certain circumstances, if we are unable to take up the onsite deployment stuff,will you ppl adjust or force us to go abroad?
I 1: (bigggggg explanation which i never listened :D)
I 1: So the third?
Me: ( a little pause) So, do you people put us in projects immediately or you will delay them
I 1: How do you want it to be?
Me: Glad if its immediate.
I 1:(blah blah blah) and he answered my first question as well
They enquired about the location preference and shift and stuff.I nodded first and then told them i cant :P
When it was about to end,he asked me "How about another 3 questions?!"
Me:NO way sir!
I 1: okay then,you may leave
I thanked them and ran out of the room :P
And the results are tomorrow,So people keep your fingers crossed.Lets see if he figured that i wasn't ready to take up the job :P

Ice Cream Melts but not his heart..

Scene four

It was the final day and Shalini was waiting for the chance. But he did not turn up any soon. She and Azhagi was upset over his disappearance. Who wouldn't escape from this? So the dreams of getting a chance to eat the ice cream shattered

A few days later..

Location : The 'Core' cabin

Days passed,sun scorched,ice creams melted but he never kept his promise. Vishwajit was escaping his way out every time he saw Shalini and her gang. All this lasted only for a few days because..

The icre cream stalls were closed soon! and he was happy again :) So the chips story continued and this time the crew was getting bigger. It was then the twist happened. Sujaya and Aadhavan were supposed to share a responsibility! Both of them took it up as a serious job and worked together. This is where the next dimension crawled into the story of Azhagi. Sujaya was a best friend of Azhagi but she never thought she ll join the 'chips' gang too.
Started with chips, the stuffs that got exchanged went on a big list right from pen till security book that saved a couple of viva voices :D At this juncture,a new path was laid before the Trio. They were to take the same path once again in their life.This time its bigger than just cabin's. All three were eager about the new path. As they waited for their results, it was a surprise gift. All three got selected for the same job!
So the story actually continues.. not in Linux or Core cabins but in a newer place..
"Communication powers the world.. X powers Communication.. these three people,will they power X"
For all those who attended the ppt,u ll know what i mean.. For those who wonders what this is.. Its upto u to find what it is :P
and for Shalini and Vishwajit.. Though Vishwajit missed the opportunity in X, he hopes to find an opportunity in Y,along with Shalini :P

Unveiled Faces

"Aaaey.. Nee ithu varaikum en oru mugatha than parthiruka.. ennoda aaru mugatha parthathilla.. partha.. thaangamaata" roared a scene in my tv . It suddenly gave me the plot for my next blog."Namakum aaru mugam iruntha? " So here goes my so far unseen six faces ;)

'Scene' party :
You may wonder if this suits me. Well,if not now, it had suited me once :D
a small flashback..
"Madam,why is your kid so dull? " asked the shopkeeper to my mom. My mom who was busily purchasing dresses for diwali,dint pay heed to my over acting as she knew the reason behind it."I got her a dress that she dint like,so she just shows it off". We left the shop and entered a new one. Still, i dint stop my 'scene'. I kept my hands on the table,resting my face on my palm,looking at the dresses with almost wet eyes. My mom was questioned again and again ,why was I sad. Finally she couldnt withstand my over-scene and got me a dress which I selected.

She still used to say.. "Scene party di nee! " :D

'Rowdy' of the area :
My bro came home,crying. My mom asked what happened. He did not reply properly. I was just 3 years old then. My mom somehow managed to make him tell why he was crying. He was threatened by a guy asking him not to ride bicycle in his street. He had actually shown over heroism by drawing a line with a stick and threatening with the stick. I got angry and said "Evan da avan.. vaada parthukalam.." I went with my mom and brother ,just before his house we stood, my mom was about to call that guy out,before which i took the advantage. I picked up a stick and was rotating in my hand. Calling out loudly "Evan da avan,enga annan ah cycle oota koodathunu sonnathu. Dhil irundha ippo vaada parpom. Sriram,nee ootu da, avan enna panraanu naan parkaraen!"
The whole street was shocked at this. My mom couldnt resist her laugh. And that guy,who was elder than my brother,never came out for a week :D

'Undaunted' Courage :

"Are you sure,you ll stay all alone for next three hours?" asked my mom,worriedly. "Just give me my video games and the tv remote,You can come when you are done shopping",said I. I was studying 3rd grade then.We were on our vacation to Delhi. My family and uncle's left me at home. I whiled away the entire evening all alone. They came home. My mom came to me and asked,"Were you not afraid to be alone?" and guess my reply? "Was only afraid you ll scold for draining the batteries in remote and video game :( " :D

'Trickster'-in Thiruvilayadal Aarambam :

The whole family was there. It was my uncle's wedding. I was 6 then. All were busy with the function. I was playing with my mom's cousin who was few months younger than me. It was when i actually played a trick on him :D I gave him a handful of grass and said
"Itha un veetula poi vecheyna,enga veetula irukara maathiri,periya koyya marama valarum"
Pity that fellow, he took that grass and went to his uncle and said "Uncle uncle, itha vecha periya koyya maram valarum nu sruthi sonna,neengalum unga veetula itha kondu poi valarunga" and the crowd burst into laughter. Even now they tease me "Pulla kuduthu aemathinava thaney nee :D"

'Hide and Seek' :

"Mahesh,sruthi enga?" asked my mom to her cousin. "Naan parkavey illaye" replied Mahesh. My mom was worried,she kept searching for me, a four year old. Almost an hour went. My mom kept praying and searching. The homemaid came,carrying me with her.
I had went into the slum area,and when i was asked "Unga appa paer enna?" and i had replied "aamai-chubbai-manian" [its Ramasubramanian :D] I dint know the way back as i was new to that place. Fortunately,the housemaid saw,and brought me back home :D

'Intrepid' stunts:

I was studying 4th grade. I used to go by auto to school then. One fine evening,rather fortunate evening,my friend and the driver kept teasing me. I said to them not to tease,if they do,then i will jump out of the auto.They kept provoking me and i said "Naan sonna senjuduvaen" and i instantaneously jumped out of the auto!! The auto's back wheel ran over my feet, but i was fortunate that he stopped as he saw me do the stunt! My shoes saved my feet that day and i still say "Engalukellam onnum aagathula..Eppudi.." :D

And there ends my six face memories,though i miss out a few at present :)

The New Plot

Scene Three


Location : Linux Cabin

Characters : The Crew



THE SCENE


"Chips for me?" asked Aadhavan to Azhagi. Azhagi turned around to look who was the owner of the voice. She was shocked for an instance. she dint know what to do. She was in oscillation.
Mind voice->"Kudukalama? Vaenama? Kudutha namakku chips irukathey! Kaetuputaney.. kudukaleyna thappa ninaipaney!".
Before she decided, he asked again,louder this time.Azhagi,had to give him this time. It was followed by a chorus "Engaluku!?!". Azhagi was speechless,not that her mouth was full of chips but then she was shocked on seeing the number out there. She somehow managed the lot.


This continued for a few days when a twist came into the story..


Icecreams became popular in the nearby stores. People were rushing to get and taste one. It was then the idea striked for Shalini. She decided the plot for master plan.
The next day..


"Why is that you always get from us? why dont you buy something in return?" asked Shalini to the gang. Guys got confused. Chorus Mind voice : "Chips ku aapu vechutaley machaan.. ippo evaluku ennatha vaangarathu?! ithana naalukum saerthu kaeta, enga porathu?! Maapu..vechutaya aapu? :( "

Now our second hero enters.. "Why not? Ask what you want, I will buy it for you!".
Shalini Mind voice : "Vaada va.. unna than ethir parthaen"..
"Buy us all a good icecream in the nearby shop." Vishwajit,who offered this,was dejected."Evaluku mattum na okay...maatikitiye mahadeva!!" said his mind voice.But then,he simply nodded his head.

THE SCENE

So as Smrithi was watching the "stuff" with great shock..
Camera Zooms in...

The stuff was a big-delicious-bag-full-of-Banana Chips! As Azhagi and Shalini were enjoying, the other gang entered and now there was a rush in the cabin to take atleast a piece and taste it.
By the time it got finished off ,Aadhavan group entered into the cabin. Azhagi group started hiding the little pieces that they saved for themselves. Aadhavan was suspicious about the sudden disturbance in the cabin though he dint try to find it out immediately.

Days passed by and the situation continued when one fine day...

Aadhavan found the reason for the disturbance! He was too anxious
Aadhavan's mind voice :
"Ketkalama? Vaenama? Kaeta tharuvala? Maatala?"

Song sequence : "Tharuviya? Thara maatiya? Tharaleyna un paechu ka!"

Atlast he built his courage to come up with the three golden words...

Best Moments :)

Deja Vu. Was thinking why I was getting this today. My memory is so strong that I could actually find what was the reason.
It was a fine morning. I was in the mid of my teens. The day was special. I was waiting for my friends. And I remember cooking food for them myself as my mom was not well. I remember everything that happened. I was happy the whole day. Few years passed and time and fate kept us away.

Six years and now we meet on the same day! The way we look, the way we speak, everything has changed. Yet, the pure friendship that we share is still so refreshing.

02/10/2004 and 02/10/2010 - Days that are engraved in my memory forever :)

Scene One

THE SCENE :


Azhagi and her close friend Shalini are in deep discussion about when and how to open the 'stuff' they have been waiting for. They were pretending to the world as if they were dealing with their 'networking' problem. But their hearts were throbbing really fast and could not wait to get the chance. There came the most awaited interval. All were rushing out of the cabin to get some fresh air including our hero Aadhavan.The only people in the cabin were our heroin Azhagi,her friend Shalini and the ithu-over-sincere party Smrithi. Azhagi and Shalini thought this was the best time to get their stuff opened. They took out the stuff from Azhagi's bag and began to unwrap the covers. Smrithi was shocked on seeing what it was and the size of the stuff gave her a jerk.

Practically NO Practical ;)

It all started from my first semester. Rushing to labs twice a week.. But it wasn't much different from school days,as it was physics and chemistry lab then.

Scenario changed when i entered the department.The first day i entered the "apple" lab. It wasn't as sweet as apple though :( Learning to work on apple machines was a newer experience.The machine was so different.First thing everyone,if not all,a few newbies,did was to search for the CPU :D And was eventually convinced that the CPU is inbuilt with the monitor :D and towards the ending of the semester,actually found that USB port was on Keyboard!!
Exactly opposite was the EDC lab! it gave us a feeling of strictu stritcu strictu,as it was non CSE lab!


Followed was the data structures in the same Apple lab. We had digital systems laboratory in 3rd sem. Was interesting to work with circuits. Made me realize, ECE could have been a better option but tooo late!The way we would fight for the "working" kit among all those actually repaired ones,the fear of "burning" the AND ,OR chips,eagerly waiting to see the probe light to glow! Was a different experience :)


4th semester bloomed with OS&System software lab and Microprocessor lab. The Unix lab!! working on linux machines! Cole-Sample were the two words that actually ruled us then :P First time ever i learnt C more! Microprocessor went so well in "Multicore" lab which will be my "dwelling" place soon :((
Finishing assembly language in style and actually trying to simulate an assembler was the best part!


Wake me from my sleep,ask me what do u hate in ur course,my instantaneous reply would be...NETWORKS!! but watta pity! am gonna work in a network based company in the near future. So there came the most feared java combined networks lab! Sockets would fool us at times and we would always convince the people there that it was the intended output :D The more we learnt in this lab was,to type "ftp" command flawlessly ;) And ofcourse, the "chips" that were shared in this lab,the hrithik roshan marriage photos that entertatined us could never be forgotten :D

The other lab was DBMS :D I still remember the mugged up queries,the totally wrong ER diagrams,a not-to-be called trigger,PL/SQL copy-pasted procedures were fun.
6th semester IP lab was fun too. Creating stupid web pages for the worst ever possible applications:D Vb and VC++,started with terror effect but ended as an usual-not-so-terrific lab.


And finally! Two ultimately contrast labs reserved for the 7th semester! The highly difficult Network Security,difficult in the sense,to attend the Viva voice:( and the best counter part testing lab :) Coding hard in the former while hardly coding in the later! The most hated words were AES and DES while the most favorite was the Caesar :D And none could have even enjoyed this terrific lab like us! Guys watching movies,talented they are! and Girls surfing FB in mobile :D[not meant to offend anyone ;)]


And finally,this day,was the most perfect day i suppose. A BIG full stop to all the lab work,obsi scribblings,record writings,printout fight-ings,viva feari-ngs etc.Yeah labs for my course is over :D
Will miss the fun though relieved of the pressure!
A big Sayonara to the labs where we enjoyed,lived our moments together,practiced to deal with pressures and much more!

Rewind!

Was pondering over my thoughts, as what i was doing same time same day last week.. well I was sleepily preparing for my first job interview! A few so-called-co-incidences!

It was Computer Networks that made me sleep to the core then, and now? Obvious ! Network security!
I was worried how to face the Interviewer! Gosh,it was lot better than to face the externals in lab! :(
I got the job :) Now? Well.. let the results say and who cares? Am Placed :P

Oops! 10 years since I posted in this blog.. not that I was busy,though it might be true to some extent.. I was really sluggish to write :D Now that I am back, I have F5-d my blog,hoping that it wouldnt shout F1 anymore..Neither would I Alt+F4 nor Shift+Del this blog.. I would try to Ctrl+Shift+Esc and add "blogging" in my Tasks list ;)
